How would you describe your business to someone you've never met? What products/services do you provide? Where and how can someone shop with you?
Rosie Lynn Designs is an embroidery boutique. And, while monogramming is definitely a large part of what I do, there is so much more to it than that. We all want something unique, something different, when gift giving, celebrating a special event, or are shopping for ourselves. RLD offers many accessories like keychains, wallets, headbands, seasonal head gear, and jewelry. Items like this are not usually personalizes, but I am doing the pre-shopping for my customers to narrow down thousands of choices into a more manageable selection. I definitely specialize in embroidered hats and bags - this is what I am known for - but I also have personalized baby gear, aprons, beach towels, and have most recently added sweatshirts for embroidery. Many of my items have been designed by me, but customers also have the opportunity to create something completely unique. I personally work with each customer to take their ideas and turn them into a finished product they can be excited about. Sometimes this is a dad wanting a new hat to support his kid's soccer team, or a bride looking for special gifts for her bridesmaids, or even a small business wanting to put their brand on merch. I recently launched a brand new website and have been working to link it to Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Items can be purchased from the website: www.rosielynn.com OR I am still on Etsy, which is where I started, at: www.etsy.com/shop/rosielynndesigns . Of course, you can also shop with me at GypsyMoon Marketplace!
When and how did your business first begin?
Ha. I love to tell a good story, but no one will want to read 3 pages on how I came up with the idea. I'll keep it short and sweet. I am independent, a risk-taker, a little impulsive, and a whole lot of optimistic. I originally thought I would stick to baby gifts - an "I could make that" moment after receiving some super cute burp cloths for my girls - but then decided to make myself a White Squirrel hat one day. That was it. I was hooked. I opened my shop on Etsy in May 2018 with 5 listings and have been growing since then! It started as a side hustle, but in 2021 (after going from full time to part time for a year) I made the decision to quit my "day job" and run Rosie Lynn full time.
What is your favorite thing about what you do?
Shopping and gift-giving. Making people happy. I love it. So much. While it can be overwhelming to choose items my customers will like or to come up with designs (there are SO MANY cool things out there), I love being able to shop for a living. I get to people-watch for ideas on what is trending for different demographics (another thing I love), and use that knowledge when shopping my wholesalers. My very favorite, though, is probably the gift-giving. In my personal life, Christmas and birthdays are my jam - I usually go overboard buying things that will make my family feel special and excited. With RLD, I get to do that a thousand times over. So many that purchase from me are buying a gift for someone special, or wanting some swag for a special occasion. When their loved one opens the gift from MY shop and loves it, or their girlfriends wear their matching hats on the beach - it's like I got to be there and make them happy too. It is a really cool feeling.
If you could turn and talk to yourself back when you first started your business, what would you tell yourself?
Go all in from the beginning. Trust your instincts. Research business practices. Get an established small-business owner to mentor. My risk-taker personality worked against itself at the beginning. Equal parts of "I'll figure it out as I go" and "Unsure I will be able to do this" kept me from doing all the legwork in the beginning. There are so many resources out there for small-business owners - funding, support, knowledge, etc. I would tell myself that this IS going to work - you will do this - but do your research now so it is easier to do the "boring" part of being a business owner later.
What advice would you give to someone who is wanting to start selling at shows/barn sales?
Have a plan. Plan what to bring by looking at the season, trends, what things will appeal to a wide audience. Plan how you will set up your booth ahead of time. Some of the smaller details just happen as you are there, but having a plan for the basic layout and larger display items/furniture makes it so much less stressful. Shop the barn sales/craft shows before you decide to try and set up as a vendor. Knowing what you did and didn't like as a shopper, really helps you when you are a vendor. Make sure you have support. It is a lot of work to set up for a show - make sure you have friends or family that can help when you need it.
Where did you think of Rosie Lynn Designs? I love it as your business name!
This was harder than I thought - picking a name. I wanted something that could encompass many types of products so I wouldn't have to change the name if my business went a different direction than originally planned. I also wanted a little personal touch in there. My youngest's middle name is "Rose" and my oldest's middle name is "Lynn". I wanted something that would flow. Ultimately, I landed on Rosie Lynn Designs.
Do you ever experience burnout? What makes you feel inspired & revived?
Yes. If a small business owner ever says they don't experience burnout - they're lying. LOL. Being a small-business owner often feels like you are an island and can be lonely. All the decisions, all the ups and downs, the success of your business - it is all on you. There is SO much work "behind the scenes", and usually people (myself included) get into a business because they enjoy making - not because they love Quickbooks. So, yes, there is burnout. But - it doesn't take much for me to feel inspired or revived. A fun group order, a "good" week in sales, talking to fellow business owners that "get it", hearing from customers on how much they love their order....MEETING customers at GMM...
What is your favorite thing about being at GypsyMoon Marketplace? What is something you want to tell the shoppers?
Fav about GMM: Socializing. As much work as it is, GMM always makes me inspired again. It is so great to talk to people and help them with shopping. I love reconnecting with fellow vendors! I have made some good friends and am always excited to see them again. You feel like you are a part of something bigger and with people who have the same struggles or joys that you do. Everyone is always so welcoming and kind. The venue is beautiful. I am always amazed at the finished product and it motivates me to bring my A-game.
Tell the shoppers: A lot of work goes on the weeks before, and even up to the few minutes before you come in to shop. We are all excited for you to come and shop our booths. Everything we do is with you in mind. Enjoy the booths, say the compliments you are thinking, smile and talk when you can, ask any questions you have, and be patient when it's busy. Enter the giveaways, join the mailing list, follow on social media - we are all small businesses and your support helps SO much!
Can you give us a few sneak peeks on what you'll be bringing to GypsyMoon?
Yay!! I am bringing a bunch of cold weather gear - headbands, beanies, ear muffs. I have adorable pom pom beanies for adults AND kids. Also some new purses and backpacks. Of course, hats... :) Several accessories like keychains and keychain wallets. I will also have a couple embroidered sweatshirts this year. I am pretty excited about all the new stuff!!
Meet the Vendor: Treasure His Word Art
I create textured art that suits most home styles. I use a light and airy color scheme with a pop of color. I usually paint on canvas and wood; however, I have also painted on other surfaces. I love to paint flowers, angels, old churches, and barns. I love to paint primitive cats and birds. Christmas time is my favorite to paint for; I love to paint the nativity scene. Everything I do is smudged and scraped to give it a beat-up, old rugged, vintage look.
Welcome to the GypsyMoon Chronicles! We are so excited to share with you, Amy from Treasure His Word Art. Read below to learn more about her business and what she’ll be offering at GypsyMoon!

I am so excited that it's almost Giddy Up Time!!! Measure your wall spaces! Measure your family's wall spaces!! These paintings make very special gifts. I love it when customers send me pictures of their homes decorated with my artwork. Especially if they were gifts!! It is such an honor to have my gift of painting as someone's wall feature. You will have so much fun at GypsyMoon! Grab a bite to eat. Then grab a Hebrews Coffee or Fruit tea and come to chat or just relax and marvel. It is sure to be a great time! Be sure to say hi to me. I love people, but sometimes I hit a shy spell.- AMY WALTERS, Treasure His Word Art

Everything I do is smudged and scraped to give it a beat-up, old rugged, vintage look
When and how did your business first begin?
Treasure His Word was created in 2019. My aunt saw a few pieces I did and asked if I would like to help her keep her FineFarmHouse Website full; afinefarmhouse.com. I was elated. My aunt is amazing and loved by her customers. She showed me off to all her friends. She invited me to her GypsyMoon Booth in 2019. She even had a couple of Barn Sales at her WildWood Farm. I painted her special barn that held these events. I eventually became brave enough to open my own Etsy Shop; etsy.com/shop/TreasureHisWordArt. Then I was asked if I was going to do the GypsyMoon Marketplace. I didn't know if I could make enough to fill a booth; with the support of my family, I did.
What is your favorite thing about what you do?
My favorite thing about what I do is to sneak a little Jesus somewhere in the painting. It may just be in the back. I try to find a way to glorify Him somehow. I love to add old hymnals or Christian literature scraps as mixed media. It adds a nice background when I mute it out by scraping paint over it. I do my best to keep certain words showing. Sometimes I use bible verse scrapbook paper I created as an urn or flower pot.
If you could turn and talk to yourself back when you first started your business, what would you tell yourself?
Do not doubt yourself. Just do it. Go big.
What advice would you give to someone who is wanting to start selling at shows/barn sales?
Do it. It is so much fun. You meet so many people that love to do what you do. You meet so many people that love what you do and need what you do. You bring joy to someone else's life when you share.
What is your favorite product you have to bring to GypsyMoon?
My favorite paintings right now would probably be either my big Flower in Bible print mixed-media urn or my new guardian angels.
I love your business name, can you explain where you thought of it?
I have always been a crafter. I got into digital scrapbooking after I had children because I couldn't keep up with the mess of real scrapbooking with babies. In 2013 I created 20 x 20 digital artwork for each of my children to put on our wall. I wanted them to know that God made each of them unique and wonderful. I also created things around my home for my friends and family who visited me. It was sometimes hard to start a conversation about Jesus, so I did everything I could to put it everywhere. I hope that everyone will come to know Jesus and Treasure His Word.
Do you ever experience burnout? What makes you feel inspired & revived?
I found out last year that I need to be around people. I took a very short break from being a Kindergarten teacher aide; I didn't return in 2022. By October, I was back in the classroom. I am useless if I don't have a good dose of social time. This year I am a first preschool teacher while working for my master's in teaching with an emphasis on Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education. I am revived on the weekends when I jam to Christian music and paint my little heart out. I like to stay busy so I can put together ornaments and earrings in the evenings or on RV trips with my family.
What is your favorite thing about being at GypsyMoon Marketplace? What is something you want to tell the shoppers?
The atmosphere at GypsyMoon is AmaZing!! There is such a variety of wonderful things to shop for. The people are so nice and fun to talk to. I love to talk with other makers. We are kindred spirits.
Can you give us a few sneak peeks on what you'll be bringing to GypsyMoon?
Well, I was going to keep it a secret, but since you asked so nicely, I will. I still have so much to do. So I'll give you a sneak peek at something new I am trying out. I'll let you guess at what it may be.

How would you describe your business to someone you've never met? What products/services do you provide? Where and how can someone shop with you?
Our company specializes in graphic t-shirts. We currently sell our graphic t-shirts to over 2500+ stores in the US. We create all our designs from scratch and them in house ourselves. Aside from printing our own designs, we do custom orders, business logos, sports attire, school attire, etc. All our personally designed t-shirts can be found on our online store.
When and how did your business first begin?
Tell us your story!
When we started our business it was only a hobby, a way to make a little income on the side. We sold t-shirts at a more competitive price, high enough I made a profit, but low enough that I was the cheapest in town. Now that this “hobby” has become a full time job and a major source of income for our family, we make sure to constantly stay engaged with our clients. •Continuing to release new designs •Occasionally run a special or sale • Asking our clients their opinions, get their feedback and hear their interest. Our prices are still affordable, but are at a rate that is still fair for both parties.
What is your favorite thing about what you do?
Creating things that are completely unique and one of a kind. There are plenty of things that inspire me when designing graphics- color scheme, shapes, patterns, quotes, etc. But it's taking all those ideas, putting them onto paper, and creating something completely unique......and then being able to print it onto a tee and sharing it with all our clients.
If you could go back in time to the beginning of your journey, what advice would you give yourself?
Don't be scared or hesitant to take jumps of faith to better yourself and your family. It's a cliche answer, but honestly something that I wish I would've learned quicker in my journey.
You design your own shirts, which is super cool! How do you continue generate new ideas?
Constantly being engaged with the trends. Trends are forever changing, so our designs often have to have aligned with what clients are seeking for. Whats the popular color this season? What's the vibe everyone is searching for? Whats the trendy graphic image you see around?
What advice would you give to someone who is coming to shop at GypsyMoon!?
Get ready!!!!....Because it's about to be a G R E A T weekend! The vendors, the food, the atmosphere, it's all something to be excited for because we LOVE to have your company with us.
What is something that keeps you inspired & motivated with your business?
Honestly, hearing positive feedback and surrounding yourself with a community of supporters. Being a small business owner can be exhausting and a lot of times you can experience burnout. But when you hear those sweet comments or receive those encouraging messages it makes everything seem brighter. Having a community that helps encourage you and support you also helps keep your motivated. It helps balance out that chaos you may be feeling.
What are your hopes and dreams for your business in the future?
I hope that we continue to grow and to keep spreading our creations into other businesses.
Figuring out time management is hard and you seem to do it very well! How do you balance family and work life?
Time management has not always been a great quality of mine. We spend all this time investing into your business and one day you realize it has completely taken over your life. Most of our business is ran from social media, which can easily be operated from anywhere. And since we print in home, it can be hard to shut the door and walk off. BUT, now that I am a mother, I understand how important my presence is. How important it is that I set boundaries of work hours vs family hours.
What is some advice you would give to a new vendor at GypsyMoon Marketplace?
Welcome to the family. No....I AM SERIOUS!
Welcome.....Family, is truly the best definition I can give for Gypsymoon. The vendors, the customers, the atmosphere, the staff, they all truly make you feel at home.
Unique Finds with the Ferguson's ❤️
We are so excited to share with you our dear friends- Colbi & Brandon from Ferguson’s Finds! This husband and wife duo is extremely talented and they have a “great eye”!

Grab your tickets to GypsyMoon Marketplace so you can shop with Ferguson’s Finds April 29 & 30!
Gosh, we love Ferguson's Finds and all your cool picks!!! Tell us where your love of picking/ collection came from!
Brandon- When I was about 4 or 5 years old I started attending auctions with my dad and pop. They liked old stuff, I liked old stuff and I soon realized that I could make money on it. In about a year or so, I had a business of buying and selling!
Colbi- I always loved decorating with vintage and antique items. I was actually “on the hunt” for a few items and when I met Brandon he was like “Oh yea, I have 4 of those in the warehouse!”
When and how did your business first begin?
Where do yall go and find these treasures?!
Here, there, and literally EVERYWHERE! We travel several states (mostly Missouri, Indinaia, Kentucky, Tennessee) going to sales and auctions looking for the most unique items to bring back to you! We also scour online marketplaces regularly and find some pretty cool pieces on there! We have been doing this for so long, a lot of times people contact us when they have items to sell.
You both have pretty demanding careers, plus another business! How do you balance everything! Give us some tips :)
Colbi- Wine! LOL JK! I know this sounds cliche, but the secret sauce that keeps everything running is teamwork. (They say teamwork makes the dreamwork!) I am thankful that Brandon supports all of my crazy ideas and dreams. We work together and do what we have to do, to make them a reality. We each have our own strengths and bring them to each business, which helps share the workload. (Brandon will tell you that Blossom Hill is entirely my baby… but he is up with me most mornings at 5am harvesting! He is even getting pretty good at knowing the names of flowers and making bouquets!) We are working hard to build our “empire!” I have so many entrepreneurial ideas that I want to pursue, but Brandon has to pump the brakes and slow me down sometimes! As our “side-hustles” have grown, our time has gotten more difficult to split. I have recently accepted a new position that allows me greater flexibility on the weekends and in the evenings. This has been a tremendous game changer to allow me more “brain-space” to focus on our budding businesses!
Brandon- We’ve got you all fooled! We don’t. (But it helps if you marry a woman who could outwork most men!)

As a married couple do you go on picking dates? If so, what does that look like?!
Colbi- It looks like every Saturday of my life for the past 10 years! Most every trip we take, Brandon is searching online to find an auction or something to buy along the way. One time he asked me if I wanted to go to the mall, and I couldn’t believe that he wanted to come to Bowling Green and go shopping. So I agreed and we jumped in my car. On the way there he said “Oh, by the way, I need to stop somewhere and look at something real quick.” Little did I know, before we even left the house, he had already bought an entire collection of typewriters in Bowling Green. With 40+ typewriters crammed into my car I didn’t even have room to go shopping!
Brandon- “I made money on those typewriters. I still don’t see a problem with it.” We enjoy long walks down the flea market aisles and romantic evenings at the auction house, she hangs in there with me pretty well at auctions. I have to keep her out of bidding wars.
What has been your all time favorite find?
Too many to name!
Have you met anyone famous while on the hunt?
Our travels have allowed us to cross paths with some pretty famous people! We set up in Leipers Fork from time to time, which is home to celebs like Mike Wolf from American Pickers, Justin Timberlake, Carrie Underwood, and Chris Stapleton just to name a few! We have bought and sold several items from Mike Wolf, even played catch with his dog Francie! Another funny celeb story came from Leipers Fork a couple years ago… A lady in our booth was talking to Brandon about a pair of glass front drawer pieces that we had displayed for sale. She seriously considered them, but ultimately did not buy them. After she walked away, another vendor approached us and asked if we knew who that was… it was Jessica Beil, Justin TImberlake's wife! We have also sold some vintage Christmas items to Amanda Shires (Jason Isbells wife) that was featured in one of her Facebook videos! Larry Gatlin has also shopped at our booth.
Trends obviously change, what are some things that are trending now?!
Over the years, we have seen several trends come and go, however we try not to buy based on trends. We look for pieces that we love and hope you do too! We believe that general store/mercantile items and antique advertising/signage are timeless and worth preserving. While that is our speciality, we have seen prices fluctuate on those items throughout the years due to changes in popular interests. Joanna Gaines “Farmhouse” trend has been popular for a few years now, which fits our style great!
Do you have any advice for someone who wants to incorporate antiques in their home for a mix of old and new?
Colbi- I would love to give some advice… but I am probably not the best person to ask! We always joke about the only “new” things in our house are appliances, our couch, and mattresses! I just use what I love and it’s hard for me to spend money on new items, when there is so much cool old stuff in our warehouse! I use a piece for a while, until I find something I like more and then swap it out!
Brandon- Decorate? Yeah, that’s her job.

Do you own a piece or collection that you would not part with? If so, please tell us about it!
It’s a running joke whether we are buying items to keep or sell! We both had so many things we “collected” that we made the rule “If it starts with the same letter of your name you could collect it..” well needless to say we got creative and store counters became “beautiful store counter” so Brandon could collect them!
Colbi- I have several things I collect/hoard! My great-grandmother and I were in an antique shop and both fell in love with a Candlewick punch bowl. That started my addiction to Candlewick. I used to collect Pyrex, but now I have almost every piece, so the excitement of finding one I don’t have has worn off… so I am thinking about selling it! I love anything garden or flower related (One time we were at a pick and I told Brandon there were some terra cotta pots I was interested in. He walked in the shed and asked which ones and I said all of them. Needless to say we left with a truck bed full of terra cotta pots.) I have several quilts and cake plates, and an ever growing collection of vintage Christmas. (I had so many Santa salt and pepper shakers, I had to narrow it down.. so now I only collect kissing Mr. & Mrs. Claus shakers!) Everyone also wants to buy our vintage Santa Post Office and our checkout counter.. but Brandon’s response is always “You’d have to fight my wife over that!” (And I think I would put up a good fight over those items!)
Brandon- My early wooden farm advertising collection will not be for sale as long as I live. There is one sign in that collection that I had tried buying for nearly 10 years. Colbi and I were getting pretty serious and she was waiting on an engagement ring. They announced the three-day auction and it was on her birthday. Strike one. I went to the auction and spent some of the money I had saved for her ring on this sign. Strike two. She still got a ring out of it and the only thing she asked is if her ring costs more than the sign.
What would be your "ultimate find" of a lifetime?
Brandon- I’ve already found it… Colbi. (Cough cough. If anyone asks… she wrote this answer.) I wouldn’t say it’s my “ultimate find” but right now I’m looking for a round or double round Merrick Spool Cabinet.
Colbi- It’s hard to say what my ultimate find would be because you don’t know what all is out there. I would love to complete my candlewick collection. I think my best find so far is our checkout counter. It was covered with grease and filth. I scrubbed on that thing for weeks.
How has GypsyMoon helped grow your business?
Since we both have full time jobs, we are not able to have a brick and mortar storefront. GypsyMoon offers us the opportunity to have a “pop-up” shop twice a year. It has greatly expanded our market audience. Although most people don’t come to GMM looking to buy a store counter, we get several calls after the show asking about our items. It also has given us a supportive network of other small business vendors!

How would you describe your business to someone you've never met? What products/services do you provide? Where and how can someone shop with you?
In our shop you'll find handmade pieces for the bohemian soul. Pieces that are unique, up-cycled and one-of-a-kind. Pieces that shift and change with you, carry story and help you feel free and beautiful in your wardrobe again! Most items you find in our shop will be one size that we recommend for a myriad of beautiful shapes + sizes. Majority being recommended from a size 00/0-22/24 and some a size 26+. It truly is like the Sisterhood of the Traveling pants and we think its magical for all sizes to feel beautiful and not feel segregated or measure their value by the size tag on their clothes!
Our pieces are made majority in partnership with villages in India + Bangladesh. In India these pieces have changed the story of an entire village + beyond who can now earn a fair wage local to their homes/families as well as have any needs met and a safe work environment. In Bangladesh these pieces bring hope to those who have been rescued from high risk trafficking environments and given a hope through a refuge and work for both them and their families.
We also have some pieces that are made from all natural processes/dyes right here in the U.S such as our Dream Line. These are made with partners in California who pay their employees a fair wage and use top of the line materials and processes that keep both the customer and planet in mind!
You can find a range of designs in our shop from pullovers to kimonos to jumpsuits! We truly believe there is a magical piece meant for everyone!
You can shop with us at www.kanthabae.com or locally in Nashville, TN at 2020B Lindell Avenue in the Wedge Building! If you want to stop by locally shoot us a message as our hours currently fluctuate to accommodate our small business.
If you want to join deeper in our online community here is a link to our Bestie group
When and how did your business first begin?
Tell us your story!
It all started with a Head Wrap... and a baby carrier! Our founder Krista, fell in love with vintage sari fabric and how strong the Kantha embroidery on it made the material. She decided it would be perfect to fashion into a unique baby wrap for her littles. Not long after she had friends and family encouraging her to offer these baby carriers and Head Wraps for purchase. This later led to our very first partnership with Basha Boutique.
Krista has always had a heart to keep seeing people at the center of whatever she puts her hands to, so being able to partner with both Basha, India and beyond to make a tangible difference in the lives of others has been so important to her. Seeing and loving people is what began and what will always be the heart beat of Kantha Bae!
What is your favorite thing about what you do?
I think I speak for the entire KB team when I say definitely the community aspect of Kantha Bae. From the community cultivated over seas with our partners to our small internet community Kantha Bae Besties community has been so important to each of us. People are the heart beat behind what we do and therefore seeing people feel seen and loved in each of those communities is so rewarding and such a full circle moment!
If you could go back in time to the beginning of your journey, what advice would you give yourself?
To remember to just keep walking with hands open. That's been the recurring theme in Kantha Bae’s story and every time we’ve leaned back into that it's proven true. As long as we keep ourselves humble, walking with open hands and a heart to love others things will fall into place, we don't have to force them into place.
Your style is SO cool! How do you continue generate new ideas!
Thank you so much!! That means a lot to all of us here!
We draw a lot of inspiration from our own experiences with clothing. We have so many times snagged a shirt or dress we thought was going to be love and would think if it just hung off the shoulder a bit more or was a little longer or larger. Usually we come up with ideas from seeing holes in the fashion world that we would like to buy but that we just can't seem to find exactly what we're looking for anywhere out there yet… so we just make it for ourselves!
We also have quite a few designs that our partners in India have come up with themselves that have turned out beautiful! They have such amazing talents!
What advice would you give to someone who is wanting to start their own business?
Remember your why it will be your anchor throughout all the ups and downs. Our why here at Kantha Bae, seeing and loving people, has been an anchor for the whole team no matter the kind of day we're experiencing so I can't stress how valuable that is!
What is something that keeps you inspired & motivated with your business?
Again back to people! Remembering the families in India and Bangladesh that are positively affected by this shop as well as the families here in the U.S that are. Whether it be through fair wages, having a safe community to land in or simply feeling beautiful in their clothes again. That is so special and a huge motivator for all of us!
What are your hopes and dreams for your business in the future?
That we can continue to grow, not for wealth, but so we can see, love and touch as many people as possible... and hopefully even make a wave to change how overall fashion operates. Maybe one day seeing people and sustainability could be at the center of the whole fashion industry and we could be a small part in that story changing for the good!
You seem to be very passionate about partnering with organizations to help make an impact on women's lives, which is incredible. Can you expand more on this and why it's so important to you and your business ?
Thank you for this question, again it means the world to us because this is the whole heart of our brand. We truly believe in women supporting women here and that community is everything. If everyone comes together to bring a gift to the table we can all make such a bigger difference! There is power and magic in community and coming together for the purpose of spreading love and we all love that we get the opportunity to do that daily here at Kantha Bae!
You have a great social media following, what are some tips and tricks you would give to help a small business owner just starting out?
I would say the best advice I ever received about social media was "How do you make friends? You go be a friend." And that's what social media, even as a business, is all about. Make friends, build community, keep seeing people at the center. Ensure majority of your social media time is cultivating relationships and seeing people, it's not all just about curating content or paying attention to analytics!
Thanks for giving us an opportunity to share our hearts here! So grateful for all of you at Gypsy Moon Marketplace and your community! Sending love to all of you!

Cedar Creek Candles offers beautifully handcrafted candles and gifts. Our candles are poured in small batches and all fragrances are custom blended. We have a brick-and-mortar store in Leo, IN and offer public and private candle workshops, wherein we walk you through the candle making process in creating your own unique fragranced candle. Visit us at 15011 State Road 1 in Leo, Indiana or online!
When and how did your business first begin?
Tell us your story!
In 1999, our founder decided she wanted to make some extra cash in supporting her family. She researched a new wax, 100% all-natural soy wax. The rest is history, and here we are 22 years later.
What is your favorite thing about what you do?
Cedar Creek Candles hand blends every candle fragrance and offers candles in both vibrant colors and undyed white wax. The creativity that goes into creating specialty fragrance blends, colors as well as the names of the candles, is so much fun!
If you could go back in time to the beginning of your journey, what advice would you give yourself?
Be patient and don't be afraid to shine!
How do you balance doing shows around the country and family home life?
To be honest, August through December is brutal, but we look forward to market season every year! With love and support from our spouses and significant others, it is possible to travel, make new friendships and explore the cities and towns we are lucky enough to travel to.
What advice would you give to someone who is wanting to start their own business?
Do your homework! Plan for long hours, and always have back up plans A, B and C for every situation.
What is something that keeps you inspired & motivated with your business?
We love meeting new people and making friends, and it's the desire to create a quality product for our customers. Candles bring out the best in people whether it be a candle fragrance that brings up a childhood memory or a special moment in someone's life.
What are your hopes and dreams for your business in the future?
In the next five years, we'd like to expand into other cities, i.e., in the Indianapolis and Cincinnati areas.
What is your favorite thing about GypsyMoon Marketplace?
We love to see all the smiling faces and excited energy that GypsyMoon shoppers bring to the market!
How do you set yourself apart from competition?
At Cedar Creek Candles, we offer scents not available from other companies, and our candles will fill your home with amazing fragrances!

Welcome to the GypsyMoon Chronicles! We are so excited to share with you our dear friends- Colbi & Brandon from Ferguson’s Finds! Grab your tickets to GypsyMoon Marketplace so you can shop with Ferguson’s Finds April 23 & 24!
How would you describe your business to someone you've never met? What products/services do you provide? Where and how can someone shop with you?
Ferguson's Finds is not your typical antique store! We offer items to suit a wide variety of styles including, farmhouse, industrial, primitive, retro, shabby chic, general store, and much more. Our curation includes advertising, general/country store pieces, furniture, and unusual one of a kind items.
My husband (Brandon) and I source all of our merchandise ourselves, through antique stores, auctions, sales, even Facebook marketplace!
We do not have a brick and mortar location, but we offer shopping opportunities at shows throughout the year and also sell online through sites like eBay and Etsy. Our main selling channel is through our Facebook and Instagram. If you see anything on there you are interested in, just send us a message and let us know! We offer shipping on most items and local pickup and delivery. Find all the places to shop us below!
When and how did your business first begin?
Ferguson’s Finds "officially" began in 2015, although Brandon had been junking since he was 10 years old!
(When he was young, he pulled a little red wagon through his neighborhood and loaded it up with all his yard sale finds!)
Brandon and I met at Murray State in 2012. I had always loved antiques and old stuff, so I starting riding along with him on picks and helping him sell at the local flea market. I finally convinced him to take his hobby to the next level when I created a Facebook page and it took off! I began applying for new and different shows and we have been junkin' together ever since!
What is your favorite thing about what you do?
Easy! People, places, and history hands down!
People- Everyone knows the American Pickers! They "travel the backroads of America looking for rusty gold", and so do we! (Side note- We have met Mike and have actually sold him several things throughout the years!) If you are familiar with their show, you know they are always meeting interesting characters. We love getting to know the people we buy from and hearing their story, but we also love getting to know our customers!
Places- We love road-tripping! We travel around the state of Kentucky, surrounding states and throughout the region to procure our finds! We get to explore some really neat places and towns as we pass through!
History- In order to appreciate these items, you have to appreciate the time they were created. These items take us back to simpler times. When you got a nickel to spend at the local five and dime, and you could pick any candy bar you wanted. When neon signs lit the streets. When grandma was in the kitchen wearing her apron, baking your favorite pie. Many of our items have a unique history that is interesting to learn about!
If you could go back in time to the beginning of your journey, what advice would you give yourself?
Colbi- Let go and let God! Stop stressing over the little things, everything will work out as it should.
Brandon- Marry Colbi sooner, so she could make my displays look nice.
You guys have such an eye for great vintage/antique pieces!
How do you know if something is worth getting?
That is a team effort! I look for pieces that I love, which isn't always the best way to shop for resale, because then I want to keep it all! I will have to admit though... Brandon has a pretty good eye when it comes to buying! He is definitely the money man though! He is constantly researching different markets and following what things are selling for. Brandon is also a licensed auctioneer, so he has a good advantage to monitor the market prices of a wide variety of items.
Since we do not have a storefront, the items we buy are catered to our outlets. For example, if we find something that is perfect garden décor at the right price... we buy it for GyspyMoon Spring Show! We try to buy smaller items for our online stores, as they are easier to ship. We buy vintage Christmas year round so we have the inventory for Christmas GypsyMoon!
What advice would you give to someone who is interested in selling antique/vintage items?
Brandon always says "You have to spend money to make money!" Search out unique items and find your niche. There are certain items that you will see in every single antique store. Be picky! Do not just buy something because you can make money on it. You have to buy items that fit your style.
It is also important to do your own research! It is ok to take a risk on an item and loose money, that is a teachable moment! A lot of people do not realize that buying the item is the easy part! Then you have to haul it, store it, clean it, inventory it, tag it, and then sell it! It is important that you take all that extra work into consideration when you are calculating your profits.
What is something that keeps you inspired & motivated with your business?
Brandon- The thrill of the hunt and finding something new! You never know what's out there!
Colbi- I love when customers send us pictures of our items in their house! It is so inspiring to see their creativity!
What are your hopes and dreams for your business in the future?
No matter how big of a space you have, it is never big enough! When we first started renting our storage warehouse it felt huge! We had plenty of room to park vehicles and our trailers in it, now it is difficult to even walk through! We would love to find a larger storage space that is more accessible. That way we could offer pop-ups and open to the public a few times a year.
We would also love to open a storefront! We have considered the idea and even looked at a few buildings, but where we both work full time, we would only be able to open on the weekends and that is usually when we are out buying! The future is exciting and we are looking forward to growing and expanding our business! We are always looking for new shows, so if you know of a show you think we would do good at please let us know!
What is your favorite thing about GypsyMoon Marketplace?
Brandon- BBQ Nachos, Pie Queen, and Whitnee's playlist
Colbi- I love to see how the event grows each year! New vendors, new shoppers, new demonstrations, it's always evolving! The fun and relaxed family-friendly atmosphere makes being a vendor so enjoyable! The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and the vendors are top notch.
What is some advice you would give to a new vendor at GypsyMoon Marketplace?
Colbi- Come prepared with plenty of merchandise! We generally bring extra pieces to keep in the trailer, that way when something sells we can refresh the booth or move items around to keep it from looking bare. Be friendly and attentive to your shoppers. Start a conversation with them!
Brandon-Get there early and get to know your customers!
Meet the Vendor: Southern Rust
Meet Lisa with Southern Rust! This woman is incredibly talented and we have had the honor of hosting her at GypsyMoon Marketplace since our Christmas 2019 show. “My business first began in 2013, out of my garage. [I started] Selling at local markets, then in auction houses. Finally in 2015, I went permanently on the road doing pop-up shows 30 weekends out of the year and loving every minute of it!”
What’s your favorite thing about what you do?
“Getting in the truck and heading down the road searching for the next great find. But, hands down my favorite thing about my job is all the great people I have the opportunity to meet.”
What is something you wished you had done sooner?
“If I could go back, I wish that I had made my career change earlier.”
You are so good at product styling/merchandising. Do you have any tips/tricks?

What are your hopes and dreams for your business in the future?
“I hope to be doing shows for years to come. But look forward to growing our online business.”
What are some hard lessons you've learned?
“Looking back when I first started I made more stupid mistakes than I care to admit. Between over paying for items, going knocking on doors, and being turned down.”
“My best moment, even though I didn’t know it at the time, was a show at the Nashville Flea Market. I checked in and the man next to me checked his mom and sister in. We started talking and 4 years later we were married! So, I found my husband at a show. Definitely my best find ever!”
Meet the Vendor: SP & Company

Comment below and show her some love!
Tell us a little about yourself…
I’m Amy Grace, the owner, creator & designer of The Sandy Pearls! We are an online lifestyle, accessories brand. Our mission is to provide on-trend & curated accessories, that are sure to upgrade any outfit.
We strive to make women feel pretty, put together, and confident, one accessory at a time! You can shop all our accessories at: www.thesandypearls.com
When and how did your business begin?
Tell us your story!
Created in 2014, I had no idea my passion & hobby would turn into a business! After sharing jewelry on social media, I started receiving orders for my jewelry I was sharing!!
Although after sharing my jewelry, I soon realized women had an even bigger need!! They wanted and needed to know how to style the outfit with the accessories!! Which is a WHOLE other aspect to accessories! This can be the true reason why women don’t show up for themselves. They toss on an outfit with no purpose, feeling less confident, and not as pretty!
Realizing this, one day it clicked for me that THIS would be my mission! To help encourage women one accessory and outfit at a time!
What’s your favorite thing about what you do?
My favorite thing about what I do is encouraging women to be the best version they are, one accessory at a time! I see them smile, feel pretty, and feel confident when they wear my creations! That itself-keeps me creating!
If you could turn and talk to yourself when you first started your business, what would you tell yourself?
Oh man!!! I'd tell myself, not to wait until I had it all figured out! Not to strive for perfection but to enjoy the imperfections! And just GO FOR IT! The Lord will figure out the rest!!
You have a great online presence! Any advice for someone who is planning to sell their products online? Any social media strategy tips?
Wow!!! Thank you!! My advice for anyone wanting to sell online, is to create a website and get on social media! And again, touching back on not waiting until you have it all figured out! Toss your products on the site, and roll with it! Figure it out as you go!
When it comes to social media tips, BE YOURSELF! Allow your audience to "like, know and trust" you! Create a community which allows them to feel a part of!! Those will soon become your lifetime customers!!
Time management is hard. How do you cope with having to do "all the things" like work, family, friendships, & personal time?
SO hard it is, balancing all the things!!! And to be honest, there isn't always balance! Being an entrepreneur who works from home, you must create boundaries and balance!! Owning your own business is a 24/7 gig, but you MUST know when to turn the hustle off! It's a lot of sacrifice and late nights but creating the boundaries and balance allow you to take control of time!!
The accessories you sell are ADORABLE! How have you learned to best manage your inventory? Do you have a process that you've developed in order to get orders out in a timely manner?
Aww thank you so much! That's such a compliment!!!
When it comes to inventory, I am purchasing 1 month in advance! I like to work 2-3 weeks ahead of the launch date to ensure I have all items in stock for the launch date!
To ensure orders get out in a timely manner, I work them in batches!! Due to Covid, I have decreased my staffing down to just me!!! So I try to work as quickly as possible with not having all hands on deck!
But communicating order turn around on your website is key for the customer!!
Do you ever experience burnout? What makes you feel inspired & revived?
Oh, of course!!!!! I experience burn out a lot! All creatives do in some way!! However, you MUST recognize you need the break! However, a good weekend unplugged from my phone and creating to be with my family does my soul some good! There also has to be some kind of chips & salsa involved with this weekend!!! ;)
Looking back when you first started, what are some hard lessons you've learned? Any funny stories?
Ahhhhh!!! FLASH CARDS! I used to take orders through emails and FB messages!! I lost track of who was who, and what they ordered, it was a mess!! That's why I say just get the website! Don't wait for perfection! A website will keep it all nice and pretty for you!!
Ps. I love and highly recommend Shopify! So easy to jump in and use!!
What are your hopes and dreams for your business in the future?
I have so many but my biggest hope and dream for The Sandy Pearls is to reach more women, while keeping my eyes on Christ! I’ve been shown this is my purpose and I will continue to use my platform to encourage and be a light! Again, the Lord will figure out and handle the rest!!!!

National Brownie Day - The Best Brownie Recipe
Happy Brownie Day, Gypsies!
Raise your hand if you like to enjoy a nice homemade brownie?! Well I definitely do, and even though I’m trying to be “good” and eat healthy, National Brownie Day needed my attention.
I am what you’d consider a boxed brownie type of gal BUT, I have been trying to find any reason to test out my husbands great grandmother’s HOMEMADE fudge brownie recipe.
I was shocked when I looked in my pantry and was able to find all of the items needed to make this recipe! Putting it together was easier, quicker, and less messy than expected. All in all, you’ll just put the dry ingredients together first, then add the wet. Bake it for about 40 minutes, then Voila! They’re finished! It was a fun afternoon activity of baking and making memories with the kids. We made a little video together and the kids enjoyed having a part in it.
We have a fun little challenge happening on our social media pages, so be sure to check it out! All you have to do is eat a brownie, snap a pic, and challenge someone to do the same.
The picture below is the actual recipe typed by Nanny. She made a typo and left out the part where you add the flour but just add it in at step 3.
Nanny’s Fudge Brownies
3/4 cup cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2/3 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup boiling water
2 cups Sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1-1/3 cups flour (All-purpose flour)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon salt
Steps:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
In a large bowl, combine cocoa and baking soda, Blend in 1/3 cup oil, add boiling water; stir until mixture thickens
Add sugar, egg, flour, and remaining 1/3 cup vegetable oil; stir until smooth
Bake in lightly greased 13x9 inch pan 35 to 40 minutes. Cut into squares when cool and wrap and pack for lunch and etc. or put in airtight container.
Everything you need to know about GypsyMoon Marketplace 2020
We get asked a lot of questions prior to GypsyMoon. Read below to find out the answers to our most frequently asked questions!
1. How did GypsyMoon Marketplace start?
GypsyMoon Marketplace started with Angie Mosley. Angie really loves decor, unique items, and anything antique/vintage. She had the dream of hosting her own barn sale and told her daughter-in-law, Whitnee Mosley. With Whitnee’s can-do attitude and Angie’s dream, GypsyMoon was born and held on their family horse farm.
2. What is a barn sale?
A barn sale takes place either on a farm, in or around a barn. It can be described as an upscale vintage/handmade marketplace. The vendors and artisans are hand selected and screened to ensure that each vendor is top notch. Once they are selected, they spend weeks pickin’, preppin’ and preparin’ for the upcoming sale. They don’t just set up a booth; they design, decorate and stage each stall with eye-catching displays that will draw you in to shop.
3. How often do you host GypsyMoon Marketplace?
GypsyMoon started Fall 2015 and has been held every April and November since. The upcoming GypsyMoon Marketplace will be our 9th event!
Our Spring GypsyMoon Marketplace will be held on April 30 & May 1, 2021 so mark your calendars :)
4. What are the date and times of your upcoming GypsyMoon Marketplace?
November 5, 6, 7- Tickets must be purchased to attend.
For the first time ever, we are offering 6 ticketed shopping sessions! More ticket information is located on www.gypsymoonmarketplace.com
5. Where is it located?
Highland Stables Event Venue: 1301 B Hunts Lane, Bowling Green, KY 42103
6. How many vendors/storefronts are there?
We have about 75 vendors/storefronts that are set-up at GypsyMoon! We keep it that way for each and every GypsyMoon- Quality over quantity is our motto!
7. Are there any special events happening during the event?
Thursday Night
5:30p-7:30p Savannah Dean will be playing live music and Sarah Nuse will be signing her newly released book, Destined For Greatness.
Friday
5:00p-8:00p Santa will be coming to GypsyMoon! He will be available to take pictures with your family.
Saturday
10:00a- Live Demo with Denise Haynes from Daybreak Critations
11:00a- Live Demo with Tori Beth from Tori Beth & Co.
2:00p- Live Demo with Michelle from Riverbend Blooms. 3:00p- Live Demo with Casey from Good Dog
8. What can I find while shopping at GypsyMoon Marketplace?
Everything! There are so many different gift items, home decor, vintage items, clothing, furniture, candles, and so much more!
9. Is it indoors or outdoors?
We would say 85% of the vendors are located indoors! There are a few vendors out front and some in our food truck area.
10. Will it be heated?
We will try our best to make sure everyone is comfortable but what a great opportunity to wear your cutest chunky sweater with boots and a beanie to get in the holiday spirit :)
11. What happens if it rains?
The show must go on! Majority of our vendors are indoors so wear your rain jacket but once you make it inside, you’ll be just fine :)
12. Does it cost to get in?
It does and tickets must be purchased to attend due to limited space in our shopping sessions.
13. Are credit/debit cards accepted?
Being on a farm in the county, is not ideal, but some vendors will try to make it work. We ALWAYS recommend having cash on you.
14. Is there ample parking?
Oh yes! We also have golf carts that will pick you up and make your parking experience easier.
15. Will there be food?
Absolutely! We have food trucks, pies, popcorn, donuts, cookies, and wine tasting!
16. Stroller/Dog friendly?
Pets on a leash are welcomed, as are children (haha! totally kidding). Wearing your child or an umbrella stroller may be best because it will be smaller and easier to maneuver. All of the stalls and back barn are mulch, so strollers may be a little tough to maneuver in those areas.
17. What are 5 top items to bring when coming to shop?
Your tickets to shop with, your mask, Dress in layers with comfy shoes, a shopping tote and cash is always king.
18. What would be the ideal outfit to wear while shopping?
Anything that will keep you warm and comfortable. So we suggest: layer, layer, layer and comfortable shoes! Masks will also be required while shopping so be sure to pick the cutest one you’ve got!
19. Who is GypsyMoon Marketplace for?
Everyone and anyone! Women, men, children, dogs, etc.
20. What’s one important thing you think every shopper should know?
We want them to leave with the best experience possible and with a trunk full of stuff!
21. How can I stay updated with all the latest GMM news?!
Check out our social media pages on Instagram and Facebook and continue to check our website! If you are wanting to be a vendor at our next GypsyMoon in the spring, keep an eye on our pages. We will be putting out applications in November.

Nanny's Summer Squash Souffle Casserole
One of my very favorite gifts I’ve received was a cookbook made by my husband’s great-grandmother, Nanny. She typed the entire cookbook of all her recipes and cooking tips on a manual typewriter. Even though I never had the pleasure of meeting her, whenever I read the recipes I see her. I imagine her sitting down, typing it word by word and think about the thought she put into it. I love old southern recipes, they are just good for the soul. Having the opportunity to make her recipes has been a real blessing to our family.
One of the recipes in the cookbook was a summer squash souffle casserole. I’m not sure about you but when summer hits, I’m more apt to eat ALL the veggies especially summer squash. I knew I had to try this recipe out and it didn’t disappoint. It’s so good! I hope you enjoy it, just as much as our family has! Let me know what you think down at the bottom in the comments!
If you’re not blessed enough to have a beautiful garden in your backyard, be sure to shop your local farmer’s market for your summer squash!

I have celebrated Christmas with the Mosley family for 12 wonderful years and Christmas has ALWAYS been one of my favorites to celebrate with them. The way that we celebrate is that we spend Christmas Eve together in our PJ’s, we open gifts and enjoy some quality time with one another, and, finally, after my kids (8 yo & 6 yo) cannot be patient any longer, my in law’s set out everyones Christmas Boxes. Chris, my father in law, gets so excited to watch everyone open their gifts and Angie is a PRO gift-giver! Seriously y’all, she’s one of the best!
She has always gifted us our “stocking gifts” inside of Christmas boxes and I have LOVED that. It seems so easy, you don’t have to try to stuff EVERYTHING in a stocking, plus it’s something she reuses every year!
So pretty much my mother in law is a GENIUS and got me to thinking- why can’t I use Christmas boxes for ALL presents!?!
When you take the average chaos of Christmas + 2 kids and a husband + out of town family visiting + expecting your 3rd one on Christmas Day = you will try anything that seems easier and makes the holidays more stress-free. Angie visited Hobby Lobby years ago for her Christmas boxes, but since we live in the age of Amazon, I went right on my phone and found some really great Christmas Box options.
Below I’ve linked some of my favorite Christmas boxes that I’ve found on Amazon, so if you have Amazon Prime these can be here just in time for Christmas:

If you are already ahead of the game and have all your gifts wrapped with pretty bows, then I salute you! But if you haven’t started then this is a wonderful alternative that you can use year after year!
We hope you are able to slow down during this chaotic season and have the BEST Christmas ever!

Q & A with The Pie Queen of BG
One of the best things about creating GypsyMoon Marketplace has been being able to meet and be surrounded by such talented people. Brie Golliher is one of those people. This Pie Queen not only makes delicious pies, but she is also a wife, mother, entrepreneur, hustler, an inspiration, and a friend. We have had the honor of being around Brie for years, and if you are around her for even 5 minutes, you’re able to see how passionate she is about what she does. We are honored that she was kind enough to answer some questions for us! Read below to find out all the burning questions you’ve been dying to know about Brie Golliher- The Pie Queen of BG
What’s your Business Name?
The Pie Queen of BG
Tell us about your business?
My pie kitchen is located in the Boyce General Store, a country store built in 1869.
What made you choose this type of business?
I have always, always wanted to have a bakery and here I am, living my dream.
What is unique about your business?
I feel like pie has the ability to connect with so many people on a personal level because it reminds them of their grandmother. That’s the biggest compliment ever.
What was a big turning point in your business?
When I started doing local television segments and launched online ordering.
Do you have employees?
2 pie queenies
Bonus Question: If you answered yes, when did you feel that it was the right time to add employees to your business?
When I start to feel myself burning out, I try to reevaluate where I’m working too much and if I can afford someone else to do that.
How do you advertise and market your product/service?
On social media and on our website. I’m a big ambassador for Bowling Green tourism (and the state) and then in some local publications such as Bowling Green Living Magazine.
How do you handle or look at competition?
I don’t believe in competition when it comes to small business; your light doesn’t get any dimmer if you light someone else’s.
What are some of your 2020 business goals?
I want to write a cookbook, that’s my biggest goal set currently!
What does your average day look like?
I get to work around 6am... help the store girls out, hopefully get to bake in the kitchen and fill orders till about 3:30pm then head home to get the boys off the bus and make dinner. During the holiday season, I have lots of after hour events or late night baking sessions to fill all the orders.
What keeps you from burn out?
I try to always have travel scheduled that allows me to visit new places, even if it’s just to Nashville or Louisville where I can get inspiration from other places.
What’s your favorite quote?
“If you love what you do, people will fall in love with you.”
How do you balance family and work life?
It comes in waves, some seasons need more work, and some need more family. Lucky for me, my family helps with the store a lot so I can do both, together.
What are some of your 2020 personal goals?
Better health.
Tell us a fun fact about you
I’m a book nerd. I read cookbooks like a novel and I can remember a recipe after reading it one time.
What’s something you wish you had known when you started out?
No one is going to love your business as much as you.
What is one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting out?
Success doesn’t come from only working on the days you want to.
What do you want to be remembered for?
How I make people feel, either through my food or the space we have created in our community.
How can people connect with you?
Instagram is my favorite @thepiequeen_bg
